Default Divine Aura

This will be a petition thread to let your thoughts on Divine Aura be known. I for one want them to actually be items that give auras and have effects on characters. NOT another annoying emote. I know I'm not the only one feeling this so please help me let the staff at Arena Net POLITELY know how we feel about this and hopefully change the Divine Aura for the better.

I laughed so hard when I read the emote part...

This is the first bad decision ANet has ever made as far as I know! They should ALWAYS be visible! (toggled)

That is personal opinion of course, but I'm disapointed with the facts. It makes it a lot harder to justify getting a Collector's Edition =P

What we do know for sure is that it is not equipable and that it is an emote. This is unacceptable to me when Ithas Bow gives more damage with higher marksmanship and the other preorder items have similar abilities. THE DIVINE AURA SHOULD BE NO DIFFERENT.

I am overjoyed to discover that the divine aura will not be wasting any space in my inventory. Please, AN, do not change a thing here!

I wish they could change it from an emote to something. Taking up space in the eventory sucks but at least it wil be on whenever we want to it be. Maybe they can make it an option option and make it toggle able.

for now they wont change a thing theres nothing you can do, the game is already dubbed, only thing we can hope for is some update when we got the retail, it all depends on AN if they want to give ppl that purchased CE feel a bit more special, instead of emotes :S

What makes you think it isn't already? Not all emotes are short term (/sit, for example).

It probably is short term, though. Can you imagine how gaudy it would be if it was on all the time?

Someone on another forum referred to the Divine Aura as an emote, to which Gaile answered:
Not exactly "an" emot... never mind, I say too much.
Which isn't terribly helpful, but does incline me to believe that you're not getting a /aura or the like.

Hmm. Maybe you can toggle it on and off then, with two different emotes. (That would explain why "an" emote would be the wrong thing to say. It's not an emote, it's two emotes.)

I sincerely hope I'm wrong about this and that the divine aura is a nice big surprise instead of something like /rank where that lame deer thing appears. I wish Gaile had told you more so that I would know if this petition is necessary or not.

Nonsense. The glowing emotes is a far better bonus than I ever hoped for. It doesn't take up a slot, doesn't make you stand out in pvp, and doesn't overpower you.

Sorry that some of you are not happy with my singularly vague description of Divine Aura. I suggest you wait until you see it before judging it. I was delighted that it wasn't taking an inventory spot, and I think from description it will be singularly attractive without being gaudy or intrusive. (I have not seen it yet.) Please just wait and see, for surely any petition to change something, at 11:59 p.m. on the release clock, is not going to see any results.

I don't look at the CE as having one single overpowering element that causes people to rush to order. If someone was willing to pay $30 for Divine Aura alone, I'd be very, very surprised. Wasn't it something that you wanted to have for a variety of reasons? The music CD? The Art book? The headphones, TeamSpeak service, or, yes, the Aura? Coupled together, I feel there is a persuasive argument for the CE, but I guess I'm not typical. For any game about which I feel passionate, I'm going to want the CE. I look at the shelf above me, and my game standee at the top is bracketed by two Collector's Editions. They're something of which I'm inordinately proud and I can't put a dollar value on them.

Those who buy the CE will have the same game experience as those who purchase the standard edition. Please don't feel obliged to get the CE -- you'll have a great time in the game either way!

she's got a point there. okay, it will be nice the first weeks to see the aura, but after some time you get bored with seeing it. an emote is just what it is and if you want not to see it (being jealous over those with CE ), you can simply filter emotes and it's gone.

too bad...just too bad.

when i first heard/read about the CE w/ divine aura and the other included stuff, I was planning to buy the CE, but when i read it was an item which was going to take a "hand slot", I changed my mind. (i was building a warrior
and that would just be useless. some ppl were saying it was a "caster" item...
I was hoping it would take an inventory slot instead, I wouldnt mind that.

but now, its gonna be some type of emote?...its not even gonna be an "item"...big change from tangible to intangible.

I think that's even better, no inventory space needed, and doesnt use up hand wep slot. but it also made the decision harder for me, since I have to ask myself again, if i should get the CE version or would i want it.
W/ analyzing the price:
i live in Canada, and the CE is $100+tax, while the regular is currently as low as $40+tax(futureshop/bestbuy). before it was a $60(game)to $40(ce items) ratio split, now the game is actually close to a $50(game) to $50(ce items) or in reverse, a $40(game) to $60(ce items) split.
weird isnt it...hehe
that really turns me off from buying it now..i guess ill just have to watch ppl with their auras from the sidelines.(too bad....sigh..... )

I really don't see the problem, people should be buying the CE because they think GW is THAT good, not because they want an edge in game against those 'regular purchase n00bs'.

Seriously do you actually want a permanent aura, one that is so good a bonus that you wouldn't take it off? Afterall you'll be a constant eye-sore to your guild mates, a big, glowing flag in pvp, and it'll mess up just how cool the rest of your armour looks.

Here's hoping that emote auras will be something on the line of heroic poses, better yet a group emote like the power rangers.

People have been speculating that the other bonuses, the items, such as the infamous "Ithas bow" will only be useful at the earlier stage of the game, aside from it's unique graphic, such as only worth using from level 1 to 10. Not only this but it can only be used on one character, and nev er used on any other character because it becomes customized to that character.

The fact that it becomes some sort of console command that lets you do stuff no one else can do in the game (except other CE players) is an amazing bonus compared to having come junky level 10 item.

the aura was the main item for me.
if i were able to cancel the order i would but it is very specific no refund
I DONT EMOTE so i dont glow phooie

FROM GW
When the character uses an emote, there is a special effect that reveals itself, which is "the favor of the gods" in visual form.

edit
everybody will be emoting 10x as much now to glow
i can see it now 2 steps forward GLOW stop here GLOW
